Intervention for Family members

Family Intervention is "Tough Love"
Tough love is caring enough for someone to do the hard and uncomfortable task of getting help.
When we do, we learn how our own behavior has fed the illness. We learn how to let the abuser experience the consequences
of his/her own behavior. We learn to stop covering up.
- The United States average for a company of 1000 predicts that 91 employees and 122 family members will
be problem drinkers.
- In the state of South Dakota, 16,366 of 110,757 young people have serious alcohol problems.
- Of those, 84.5% won't recieve proper treatment. That means 13,722 young persons don't get treatment
when they need it.
(Estimates from the Alcohol Cost Calculator at www.ensuringsolutions.org)
When the role of love takes center stage during an intervention,
most families never have to resort to using tough love. Love breaks through denial first.
